Executive Presence: How Dress Like a Pro, Focus On Tailored Clothes.

# If you don’t know what to wear, wear something beautiful. – StandOutStyle.

Research on appearance in executive presence is clear. How you look, dress and take care of yourself matters. The only question is how much of an effort do you invest in looking your best self, while performing in your role to the best of your abilities.

The goal of professional dressing is to convey a story about yourself.

How do you want to perceived, and how do you want to be remembered?

You want to be remembered and noticed for looking the part. Your focus should be on style, and perhaps not so much on fashion. The latter might depend on the context; if you’re an executive in the fashion industry you will probably want to convey the latest fashion trends, but not necessarily.

Even among fashion executives what seems to matter the most, are style and uniqueness.

In most cases, it always comes down to the style.

How should a style look like in a professional context, regardless of the industry?

Your style should be pulled together, unique and make you feel confident. And comfortable.

What always helps is choosing clothes that are tailored, that fit you well.

Perhaps a bit of a paradox but not in a professional context:

“Only clothes that are well tailored will make you feel comfortable.”

The meaning of tailored includes high quality materials and the right fit. They are the kind of clothes that make you feel like you’re wearing them, and not the other way around.

For this edition we have chosen an equestrian style – or at least a direction. High neck jumper or a silk blouse, combined with a tailored blazer and a high boot will always make you look pulled together.

Here are the latest, two looks from Ralph Lauren Collection Spring 2025, Jimmy Choo boot in beige suede, Hermes scarf and Tiffany black pearl earrings. Colour palette for Spring 2025 includes purples, greens and neutrals.

No look is complete without a perfect scent; Hermes Hiris will serve you well in a professional setting.

Enjoy.
